That was our Aluminium Welding Technology Day 2023

On 27th September, Fronius UK opened their doors to welcome more than 80 welding professionals for an aluminium focused welding technology day in conjunction with the Aluminium Federation (ALFED) and Cranfield University.

The insightful day featured topical talks from industry leading experts and welding demonstrations.

Welding connects metals, industries, and people

We aspire to produce more than just welding systems, which is why we are the innovation leader for arc welding and are constantly developing welding processes further.

In addition to welding technology for robot applications, we offer solutions for manual gas shielded arc welding, for MIG/MAG, TIG, and MMA welding processes. We also implement automated, complete welding solutions tailored to customer requirements in the field of welding automation.

After all, welding creates connections - between metals, between industries, and between people. Connected by the arc, by passion, by the beat of welding.

Exento welding fume extraction system

Compact design, maximum protection:

Thanks to its particularly high filter quality, the Exento HighVac mobile high vacuum extraction system removes more than 99.9% of captured welding fume particles, resulting in significantly lower welding fume exposure.

In combination with the powerful Exento fume extraction torch, the high vacuum system captures the welding fumes directly at the source. It is equipped with an extra large, vertically mounted filter cartridge, thereby ensuring particularly effective cleaning.

What is MIG/MAG welding?

MIG/MAG welding is also referred to as gas metal arc welding. A differentiation is made between metal inert gas welding (MIG) and metal active gas welding (MAG). MIG/MAG is currently the most frequently used welding process and allows for particularly high welding speeds. It can be used in a manual, mechanized or robot-supported manner.

what is TIG welding?

Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG welding) is a gas shielded welding process and is one of the fusion welding processes. It is used wherever optimum quality and spatter-free weld seams are required. TIG welding is suitable, among other things, for stainless steels, aluminum and nickel alloys as well for thin sheet metal made of aluminum and stainless steel. It is used in pipeline and container construction, in portal construction and in aerospace applications.
